'The base of the zone is defined by the entry of the first primitive Eoparastaffella M1 (Morphotype 1 of Hance &Muchez, 1995 and Hance, 1997). These primitive Eoparastaffella include ‘E. ovalis type 1’ (E. ovalis sensu Vdovenko, 1964, 1971 part.; see remark below), E. rotunda Vdovenko (this paper) and E. ex gr. interiecta Vdovenko (Devuyst & Kalvoda, in press).'
