base notes	Base at base M15r in chart of Mutterlose (Dec’19 to J.Ogg); GTS2012 had as Chron M16n.8 (was M15r.0 in DTS 1995). Uppermost Berriasian tethyan ammonite subzone (and now upgraded to a Zone by Kilian Group, 2017 -Reboulet, et al. (2018).) ’T.alpillensis’ was recommended to replace the ’Berriasella callisto’ subzone of earlier scales (Hoedemaeker et al., 1993). However, they indicate that the lower limit remains poorly defined, because ""the identification is in dispute"" of species, whose first appearances define the subzone. Therefore, we have temporarily retained the base as being the same as the former ’B. callisto’ subzone, as was correlated to magnetostratigraphy in Berrias by Galbrun (1986). Some workers would prefer to place this subzone into the Valanginian, because the ammonite association is a mixture of Berriasian and Valanginian forms, which continues into the overlying ’T.otopeta’ Zone; but NOW, the T.otopeta Zone has been shifted to Berriasian (and downgraded in recent scales to just a subzone).				comp notes
