base notes	Base of E. (was martinoides?) ammonite zone (full name = Cheloniceras (Epicheloniceras) martinoides; called Epicheloniceras subnodosocostatum on SEPM chart). Ammonite E. martinii BASE is at NN1 = Niv. Noire #1 = first black shale in NN set in Vocontian Basin [Luber et al., 2019, Cret.Res. Suppl.X10] (= base of Piobbico Cycle 45). BASE of G.ferreolensis Foram zone in SE France (summarized in Herle et al., 2004; BUT Luber-Bulot et al., 2019, Aptian strat in Cret.Res.2019 suggest it begins in uppermost Cabri - 90% up = fits exactly); and that Foram zone is cycle-scaled (Huang et al., 2010) = assumed tie for GTS2012. Equivalent to Cheloniceras (Epicheloniceras) martinoides zone. GTS04 = Top of foraminifer L. cabri (120.7 Ma in rescaling of Leckie et al., 2002) is just above the top of the D. furcata ammonite zone at Le Bedoule (Moullade et al., 1998); therefore the zonal boundary age was rounded to 121 Ma. Zone is approximately equivalent to boreal Cheloniceras (Epicheloniceras) martinoides zone				comp notes
