(T.) pachydicranus zone: Valanginian tethyan ammonite subzone ’H. trinodosum’ was formerly a distinct zone, but was lowered in rank by Bulot, Company & Thieuloy (reported in Hoedemaeker et al., 1993). Two horizons are distinguished: lower = Olcostephanus nicklesi (FAD defines the base of the zone); upper = Criosarasinella furcillata.
