The split between these zones -- the FAD of Phelodinium magnificum has been reported outside NW Europe in sediments at least as old as Danian, e.g. Lower Dos Palos Shale of California (Drugg, 1978), Powell, 1992. Therfore, the definitions are merged: Powell (1992): The Apectodinium augustum Interval Biozone (Aau Biozone) is defined as the strata between the FAD of Apectodinium augustum and the FAD of Phelodinium magnificum. It is calibrated to the Calcareous nannoplankton zone NP9 (pars) of Martini (1971); planktonic foraminifer zone P5 (pars) and subzones P6A and P6B (pars) of Blow (1969) and Berggren (1972); and to the dinocyst Biozone D5a of Costa & Manum (1988). The Glaphrocysta ordinata Interval Biozone (Gor Biozone) is defined as the strata between the FAD of Phelodinium magnificum and the FAD of Wetzeliella astra. It is calibrated to the Calcareous nannoplankton zone NP10 (pars) of Martini (1971); planktonic foraminifer zone P5 (pars) and subzone P6B (pars) of Blow (1969) and Berggren (1972); and to the dinocyst sub-biozone D5b of Costa & Manum (1988). . Base of NP10 on GTS04 diagram. Pre-2012 TSC version of GTS04 = GTS2004 had at 2/3rds up in Chron C24r. BUT, from Felix Gradstein (16Nov05): "Morten Smelror corrected the North sea dinos events relative to the master chart column of dinos. A problem on standard dino column is the top of A. augustum. The top must be at the Paleocene/Eocene boundary, and not above it. This means you have to lower its appearance by 0.5 Ma, as is than correct. Can you do this also on the master chart without North Sea." Therefore, even though the calibration information relative to C-isotope spike was not provided (I’m concerned that the NorthSea calibration is using the "classical" base-Ypresian, not the isotope-one), the LAD of A. augustum was fixed at the base-Eocene, and the FAD was fixed as 0.5 myr prior to the LAD.				comp notes
