Powell (1992): The Charlesdowniea coleothrypta Interval Biozone (Ccl Biozone) is defined as the strata between the FAD of Charlesdowniea coleothrypta and the FAD of pentadinium laticinctum. It is calibrated to the Calcareous nannoplankton zone NP12 (pars) of Martini (1971); planktonic foraminifer zone P8 (pars) of Blow (1969) and Berggren (1972); and to the dinocyst sub-biozone D8 of Costa & Manum (1988). C. coleothrypta FAD is within nanoplankton zone NP12. However, on the SEPM chart, these FAD levels are coincident => "Ccl" doesn’t exist (see comments on P. laticintum), but "Pla" begins at this level.. 30% up in NP12 on GTS04 diagram.
