Powell (1992): The Wetzeliella gochtii Interval Biozone (Wgo Biozone) is defined as the strata between the FAD of Wetzeliella gochtii and the FAD of Chiropteridium lobospinosum. It is calibrated to the Calareous nannoplankton zone NP22 and NP23 (pars) of Martini (1971); planktonic foraminifer zone P18 and P19-20 (pars) of Blow (1969) and Berggren (1972); and to the dinocyst biozone D13 of Costa & Manum (1988). The FAD of Wetzeliella gochtii allows a direct correlation to the base of the D13 zone of Costa and Manum (1988). Base of N22 on GTS04 diagram.
