"MP7 and PE I are aligned with base Neustrian; and Neustrian should just below the base Ypresian; MP7 and PE I are aligned with base Neustrian, which means that some of the classic PETM faunas (Dormaal, Quesnay) are actually latest Paleocene (Hooker 2015)." (Speijer to J.Ogg, 3Sept’19) => put 100kyr below base of PETM here. Just FYI: "MP7-8 type assemblages seem to be quite diachronous between northern and southern Europe .. (Yans et al. 2014). " BUT, Speijer (Sept’15 email), advised ": I think I upset more or less the entire vertebrate community in Brussels with including the proposal of Jerry, that the MP7 reference level (specifically Dormaal) would include the latest Thanetian. Clearly before this can be changed in the chart as I previously suggested, there should be more agreement that Jerry’s proposition is correct.
