base notes	Formerly Anagymnotoceras varium zone; but now its subzones have been "ugraded" to be zones by Orchard (chart of Oct’19 to J.Ogg). Base of A. varium commonly placed coeval with base of Kocaelia Zone (base of Bithynian), and in Spitbergen has base in MT3r (Hounslow-Muttoni, 2010 - put here at base of MT3r.3r, same as S. mulleri in Tethyan); and the subzones given an approximate 30:40:30 relative duratiosn. On SEPM chart, base of A. varium Zone shown as mid-way in lower "unnamed" subzone of Kocaelia Zone of Tethyan/Alpine. Subzones are given Zonal status in some schemes. Genus for lower B. haugei s.z. given as "Parapinacoceras" in some scales.				comp notes
