base notes	Base of Visean Stage (just above at GSSP). Was 'Gnathodus texanus' in previous charts; but called. Gn. homopunctatus in chart of Aretz 25Mar'19 for Europe scale. From GTS2020 spline fit; fixed to be base of Visean. GTS08 = DASH -- Davydov's chart has at 15% above base of Visean; but the G. texanus is considered to be a useful (but not always consistent) working marker for base-Visean by Sevastopulo and Devuyst (Carb. Newsletter, 2005); therefore, set in GTS2016 and here as base-Visean. Was about base-Visean in GTS04/08; but Davydov had higher in GTS2012. Age of 346.73 from GTS2012 was retained in GTS2020 spline which assumed that the CONOP scale of Davydov that was scaled had used the Benthic Foram definition!				comp notes
